Have an AR15 with scope and bi-pod / forward grip. Needed a case with more height. Worked well for me. I wouldn't recommend for travel where someone else handles luggage, it is a little flimsy but protects the gun adiquately when you are the one who is in charge.

I received the case a few days after I bought it. The foam was not glued down. I fixed this by applying 3M 415 double sticky tape in the middle plastic rib of each side and gorilla glue on the other ribs. I bought this case to transport 2 shot guns (Remington 870 20ga and Mossberg .410 with 28 and 24 inch barrels). The guns fit OK in the case but are not held in place very well because the foam isn't very thick. I started wrapping one of the shot guns in a towel so they would not rub against each other during transport. I also tried the case holding an AR-15 with scope and shot gun. Again, it fit OK but it would have been better if the case was slightly wider. Another item is the latches are not very robust and you have to make sure they are closed well before picking up the case. I gave this 3 stars because it works for what I intended... transporting guns back and forth to the range. If I would have known more about this case, I would not have bought it. Instead, I would have paid more for something that is more heavy duty and with thicker foam. As usual, you get what you pay for.Read full review

I put a shot gun and a rifle with a scope in the case and as soon as I turned it upright and lifted it by the handle I heard and felt the guns slide to the bottom and clunk against one another.. No matter what guns you put in this case that will be a problem and who needs that! I might use it for a compound bow that is very light and has more expanded surface area in hopes that it won't slide around. Obviously, I would never have purchased it if I had know it wouldn't hold guns securely. I can't imagine why Plano would put their name on this inferior product. It's not worth the shipping cost to send it back let alone the cost of buying it so it's a loss. Hopefully those considering buying it will read this review and move on to buy a case that may cost a little more but will do the job as intended.Read full review

Case is black plastic, and molded and padded, but upon taking it out of the box, and opening it, the pads were loose and fell out, I loaded it with 2 med weight rifles and the case was too flimsy to pick up without it popping open. This would not meet airline requirements in my opinion. The rifles would have fallen out on the tarmac on the way to the aircraft! It's not secure, the latches are questionable at best. Good points: it's all the same color. It was packaged correctly in a carton.

We bought two of these to hold our breakdown recurve bows and accessories and one 54" solid recurve which was my dad's...worked great for our purposes...
