I love it, or to say it better, I love both of them. I have both the Pioneer PD F407 and PD F507. The only real difference between the two is that the PD F507 has a separate remote. The PD F407 can be controlled remotely but it has to be done by linking it through a compatible Pioneer Receiver and the remote for the receiver will then control the CD player. Also, the PD 407 is listed as a current product on the Pioneer internet site and the PD F507 is listed as a previous model but they share the same owner's manual which can be downloaded directly from Pioneer. Originally I had a Sony five Disc CD/DVD player in the shop but it suddenly decided that it really didn't want to work so it magically transformed itself into something headed for the nearest electronic recycler. I had read some reviews on multi-disc CD players and the Sony players were taking a beating whereas the Pioneer players were getting a lot of praise for their sound, functionality and durability. Now it was just a matter of finding the right player at the right price and that is why there is something called Ebay. I have no interest in multi-disc players that hold 100 or 300 discs and was looking for something else and Pioneer had the product in the their line of 25-disc changers. Basically, it's like this: a person can have the full package of channels available to watch on their TV and they still can't find anything they want to watch and the same could be said of music. The point being is that things get lost because there is so much in the way of choices that can be made so it is easier to not make any choice at all. That is why I choose to load my CD's in alphabetical order in either my shop or home sound system and not worry about it. The music can change from one genre to another real sudden like but now all my music collection gets played and discs don't sit forlornly in the rack waiting for the opportunity to show their stuff. As stated before, I bought the PD F407 for the shop and I liked it so much that when I saw a PD F507 for at a very reasonable "Buy It Now" price, I pulled the trigger and added the unit to my home system. The remote feature of the 507 is great because if the wife comes in and wants to talk I don't have to lift my ass off the couch to pause the music while I make an effort to listen to what she has to say. Conversely when she leaves, I am back in the zone with just a push of the button. One very important feature of both players is that they remember the last disc played. I can stop play, turn off the power and when I return at a later time the player starts at the last disc played and doesn't go back to very first disc and replay everything from the beginning. According to the owner's manual there is several different programming options that cover just about everything a person could think of. One that I found interesting was the ability to make what I would call a "Theme Tape" where the CD player can be programmed to play selected tracks from selected discs with an ongoing total of the playing time displayed if a person should want to record the program to a cassette tape. A pause can even be programmed in to allow for flipping the tape over and recording the other side. Back in the day when a person tried do record selected tracks from vinyl it was nearly an all day job to time and squeeze all the desired tracks onto one 90-minute tape. Ya' just gotta love some of the advancements in technology.Read full review

I had a CD player just like this one that lasted over 20 years. When I saw this one on line I knew I just had to have it. I was concerned about not having a remote but bought it anyway hoping the remote from my old unit would work and it did so now everything is working fine. Thanks for everything and all your help.
