Betty Grable was billed as the "Girl with the million dollar legs." It was said that the studio had her legs insured for one million dollars by Lloyds of London. Like so many stars of her era Betty could act, sing, and dance. She was also the number one pin up girl of WWII. While not her best film, Pin Up Girl is a good example of the light hearted musicals that were a staple of Hollywood during the forties. This film contains several musical numbers, one of which is done on roller skates. Having been filmed in 1944 there's much reference made to our men in uniform and an ending musical number done as a precision drill routine, all women in uniform, with parade rifles, going through a precision routine that's sure to impress. Betty leads this number as the drill instructor who barks out the orders. This film offers a glimpse into Hollywood's past. A past that's worth remembering.Read full review
This film features a spectacular musical number on roller skates. Betty Grable is her usual beautiful, talented self, enhanced by lovely costumes and Technicolor photography. The film is entertaining, but requires more than the usual suspension of disbelief. Popular Lorry (Grable) claims to be engaged to 500 men. She justifies this because it's wartime and she wants them all to feel special. She lies her way onto the stage of a nightclub by saying she has recently starred on Broadway. When the one guy she really likes turns up at her real job (secretary), she continues the Broadway star lie much longer than necessary, and the guy doesn't recognize her because she is wearing glasses. It's all played for laughs, the boyfriend easily forgives her, and Lorry doesn't suffer any bad consequences for her actions. But I felt sorry for the 499 other men.Read full review

I usually love Betty Grable movies, but this 1944 film is one of her weaker vehicles. The plot is poor and so are the songs. She stars as a singing secretary who entertains the troops at a USO canteen. Despite Martha Raye and Joe E. Brown as back-ups, this film did not take off as intended.
A Truly nice film. Comedy and Musical numbers keep this film rolling along at a great pace. Martha Raye and Joe E Brown are so fun to watch.Betty Grable is,as always,a actress, with all the right stuff.
The DVD worked well, I enjoyed the film. It was mailed out promptly and arrived safely. Nice to know that these old films are still available to watch in your own home.
