The small saw is a little under powered to really push into the wood but it cut great. The chain is the toughest stay sharp chain I have ever used on hickory wood . The light 170 and the 3/8 chain works great . A lot lighter than the 372 or 55 for working up smaller diameter fire wood. Very happy and impressed
