My mother saw the Olympus Fe-46 that I had purchased for myself and expressed a desire to upgrade form the disposable film cameras that she had been using. i found a great deal on e-bay for a Olympus Fe-25 and ordered it . The cmera arrived just before mothers day. the Olympus Fe series are very nice cameras with one major fault. The camera uses xd memory cards. The xd memory card is like the sony betamax of memory cards. Nothing really wrong with it, just that everybody else is uding SD or microSD.It was difficult to find an xd card but when I did it was priced at $40 (MiroSD cards cost $10 for a 2gb). I purchased an adapter for microSD to xd from on e-bay. That combo stores pictures but will not store video. I believe that Olympus has changed this fault on their new line of cameras. if not they should. nice camera except for that. i guess I m going to spring for 2 xd cards. $80, more than I spent on both cameras on e-bay.Read full review
I had an olympus before this purchase which was more expensive and did a great deal more than this camera. Since I have experience with this brand, I wanted to get close to the same one I had before. At this I could not figure out how to use the camera and spend more time in trial and error, but as I got the hang I got better with it. Now I am much better with it but learning moatteryre as I use it everyday. I use it more to take picture of items that I list on ebay and other sites. It is a really nice, small camera that fits into a pocket or small handbag with no problems. I bought it because of the price and it uses battery not the chargeable battery which I do not feel comfortable using. The only thing that dislike about the camera is that I am replacing the batteries too frequently. Anyway, I found out a good way to avoid that is to take the batteries out when I am not using the camera to save the batteries. So far it seem to be working but I will see as I go along. I would recommend this camera to my friends and family.Read full review
I decided to buy this camera as a gift for my sister-in-law in mexico, we tried it out on vacation and its great! Its compact and easy to use, and easy to download the pictures on to the pc. Best of all it was not too expensive. I saw the same camera in mexico at a store called Chedruawi for almost tripple the cost of what i payed for it. only downside is you have to buy a micro sd card to put into the adapter that comes with the camera. any 2gb card is good because it holds tons of pictures.
I love the picture quality and how easy it is to use. I've taken great indoor shot with the flash and had no trouble downloading the images.
I bought this camera as a first camera for my grandson. He hasn't put it down since Christmas. Seems to have all the features we need. It's very easy to operate and understand. Battery life so far seems good. makes a great first time camera.
