My old OREGON wireless indoor outdoor weather station form the1990's finally died. I had to replace it and found this smaller OREGON was now their closest replacement to my older model. It was also ON SALE at a price point of $12! There are many table top weather stations our there, but there are very few that are 100% wireless AND that have long battery life. I refuse to use a wired weather station! My older unit had unbelievable battery life in both pieces (base station and remote sending unit....3 to 5 years!). Time will tell what this unit yields. The only reason I did not give it 5 stars was the lack of outdoor humidity information (it does give indoor humidity information). I fear the 'wireless' OREGON's are going to be discontinued, so I bought 2!

The unit won't connect to my base station. It powers on fine and I can see the temp and humidity on the remote unit but not the main station. I reset the remote unit a bunch of times and it connected once, then it lost connection after a couple of hours while sitting within inches of the main unit. I will end up throwing it away.

I have an old unit that requires these sensors. Unfortunately they are not built for outside and they rust out in humid Florida weather. I have one sensor without the front display that I now use for the outside. It's working fine. These ones I strictly use inside in different rooms. I've added a picture of one of my older sensors to show the corrosion that happened inside the unit.

Great product! Received as a gift 6 years ago. Remote sensor still worked, just not all the time. Fantastic to look at the base unit and see: time, outside temp., humidity, moon phase and inside temp. and humidity at a single glance. Easy set up. HIGHLY recommend.

This is a replacement to my original THGR122NX outdoor remote sensor. While the unit was still transmitting data to my base unit, the digital display recently and quickly faded and became unreadable while outdoors. The original outdoor sensor lasted a good ten years. The unit would require that I replace the batteries about every two years. The unit worked fine during multi-day sub-zero cold snaps. I moved the old sensor to the garage where I can track minimum and maximum humidity levels in the heated garage on the base unit.
