Built my MSR with quality parts and wanted it to be accurate at long distances. Once sighted in at 100 yards using XM193 ammo groupings were 1/4" to 3/8". Then went out to 300 yards 4" metal target. 10 for 10 at 300 yards. Scope had great clarity and excellent zoom. Don't waste money on the cheap scopes out there if you have built a quality gun you best spend the money for quality optics.

The P-223 is an excellent scope! Put it on my AR and was hitting 6 inch steel at 200 yrds after about 5 shots and a few clicks. The reticle is sharp, the glass clear, and the turrets easy to adjust. The tube length is ideal for a AR rifle.

Bought this for my Bushmaster with the carrying handle. The quality is excellent. The lens is crisp and clear. The scope was nearly bore sighted from the factory and few adjustments were necessary. Used the 50 yard zero and the strike of the bullet was about 1" high at 100 yds. as advertised. Got on the "Spoton" Nikon site which is very helpful and easy to use. Using that site I have a high degree of confidence in the scope out to 300 yds. using the BDC feature. Mounted the scope using a Luepold rail mount and rings. These are all excellent products and make for a vary solid set up. This Nikon P223 3x32 "sees" a lot better than I expected from a 3 power. I have two other Nikon rifle scopes on hunting rifles and they are all outstanding products.
If you try this scope out, you will find that the glass is so bright an clear that the first time I looked through it I was actually surprised by how clear it is. $230 is a modest sum to pay for such high quality and Nikon quality is indisputable. Why pay 2-3 times more for marginal improvements? This is more than good enough. I used this at 300 yards and managed to hit the bull on my first time out at that range.
