Shipping on this camera was extremely fast two days out of Cali to NC. Price used was within budget. WiFi adapter works and can be used as backup remote. From the 10 MP to 24.1 MP was a big upgrade for me and the difference is easy to see. Video mode is stunning with custom settings. Menu is easy to navigate along with the ? button you can learn additional features. I use manual settings most of the time to get the photo I need. Auto is good for when your on the go.

Great Camera for the Money.... Great Image quality and Video Quality but lacks in a few areas (Of Course at this price)... Positives... Image Quality Video Quality High Iso Quality Price Flip Screen LCD Same Sensor as the D7100 (Toshiba) that's has been better than the Sony sensors they have been using as of late... Negatives... Raw files are 'Compressed RAW' so the image Jpeg quality is better than the RAW Files. One focus point in live view. Small (unless you have Very tiny hands). No in camera AF system AF-S Lenses only (Of Course at this price). I wish the flip screen LCD would pivot from the bottom and not the side like it does(Like the Sony a580 did)...
The camera is Great! It replaces a Nikon D3000 and my old lens' make this a low cost upgrade that improves my photos with the much higher resolution sensor and adds video capability and sound recording. I can now use the display to preview photos as well as video. The accessories that I liked were the memory card, charger and the camera bag. the bag was perfect for the old camera body with one lens and charger. I gave the D3000 to my son and expect photos from him as well!

Overall it was an "alright" experience. Didn't receive the bag as advertised in the picture. Received a very small bag that looks NOTHING like the bag I expected. I guess that is how they get back what they are losing in a bundle deal but it is deceitful and dishonest! Tried contacting the owner but received no response. That tells me they were aware of what they did and probably have done the same thing to others! Will never buy from again. The other pieces I received, the majority was cheap stuff. The tripod would blow over in a slight wind and I would have been ashamed to send to anybody in a bundle. Will never do the bundle thing again. Next time I will order what I need and just pick up the other things at a later date. Still gave the business a positive review but probably should not have. Disappointed!Read full review

The D5200 is a light weight fully loaded DSLR that is an excellent pick for the advanced amateur. If you are a professional by all means go for the D7000 series, D600 or D800 and all that. But for those of us not needing equipment that takes abuse, I can't imagine any features you would need that this camera doesn't have. The ability of this camera to deliver quality high ISO photos combined with new VR lenses is a distinct advantage in low level and night photography. The video is excellent, but manually zooming or focusing while recording can be less than smooth. It could be my technique is lacking since I am used to dedicated video cameras. The still photo taking access to controls and buttons are easy and straight forward once you learn the menus & abbreviations. Moving from viewfinder to back screen display for video sounds clunky, but I understand that it is locking the mirror up for constant sensor reading. It is barely heavier than my D40 and therefore much easier to hand hold for long periods of time than the heavy professional models. Note: When connecting to USB the camera must be on, which means if you leave the camera attached for a long time it will drain the battery. I don't like on camera flashes but this one does a surprisingly good job. The exposure seems spot on compared to my D40 that I constantly had at -0.7 stops for everyday shooting. On picture control I usually shoot normal for indoor and people and vivid for outdoor so that colors are more pronounced. I have not explored the other modes. The camera comes with an extensive "User's manual", but the huge "Owner's manual" is on CD. If money is tight get the D3200, but if you can pony up a couple more Franklins get the D5200. You won't be disappointed.Read full review
