I use a camera a LOT in my work taking lots of photo in all kinds of conditions, and rapidly. These are representative photos and not studio type photos. It is also great for personal family use. Consequently I have had to replace my camera every 6-24 months BECAUSE I DROPPED IT! I try to keep the strap around my wrist which has saved my camera many times. EACH NIKON I have had of this model works exactly the same as the first one so I know what to do in certain conditions, what to expect, and I get necessary, quality photos each time. Aside from tragically dropping one, it SUCKS the juice out of batteries quickly, which I was forewarned of in the beginning so I have rechargeable batteries & plenty of them as well as plenty of one timers. But really, the battery usage is not an issue.

Well now , i got mine new in box for less then $100.00! quality to me was great & pictures range of different style's was also great , however went through batteries like somewhat quickly esp. using movie format. the card was great as for downloading Pic's & the safely lock which had to be reset was a slip of the finger / amount of pic's to hold another * star in a 4.0 rating . Reason for 4.0 Battery Dept door had issue of closing & would have some issue's of saying new "batteries exhausted" had to mess around to get camera to work correctly after a year's use ! Surprised thought would of been better since Nikon name on it. But!! you get what you pay for!! Camera finally stopped working not allowing new batteries to turn it on but screwed up every now & then over past 4 yrs making statement "batteries exhausted"// for under $100.00 I guess got my money's worth! More then likely will sell for parts or have refurbished & Used it in my Tackle box!!Read full review

Absolutely love this camera. I bought the Nikon Coolpix l100 first which was great but didn't do HD video. Sold it and demo the Nikon Coolpix l610 camera at a store. This camera is more compact and does full 1080p HD video. Fantastic zooming feature. My only gripe is its pulls to hard on regular Duracell batteries so I could only get less than a minute of HD video the first time I tried. Ill have to invest into some better batteries for video. Great camera for a hobbyist any way!!!!!!
I have a few other digital cameras, but I find that this is the one that I carry with me (in the car) and the one that I grab for a quick shot. It Does not jump when I hit the shutter release button ~ like my Fuji camera does. Therefore no blurry photos! My other camera has all kinds of bells and whistles, and if I have time for a tripod, etc. I may use one of them, but for everyday use I find myself grabbing my ever-ready Nikon COOLPIX! If it gets lost or stolen from my car, I just buy another one on eBay at a very reasonable price . . .

The Coolpix L610 is a good cheap camera but lacks a peep sight . Found the LCD is not bright enough for Sun Light . Have to take a picture in a shaded area . Zoom lens is great at 14X and is super for a small pocket camera .But it needs more battery power . The camera carries only two AA batteries and uses them up in no time and have to carry extra batteries or use rechargeables .The Sports setting speed is a bit slow and have had a few blurred photos .I take a lot of Wild life Photos in the outback so need a camera with a good sports setting speed . Its a good starter camera but need an SLR with a good zoom lens and a very good sports setting speed . This camera uses a SD card which is very good and has a pop up flash good for short distance shots . Buy it cheap because it has a few draw backs and you will want a better camera after using it .It does take good quality photos and color is good but not super .Read full review
