I have always wanted one of these drivers but never wanted to pay full price, when they first came out I believe the price was around 299.00 I was still getting use to having good drives off the tee and thought having a better quality driver would make it even better. I held off for years and now have gotten even better off the tee. One day a friend at work was telling me about his new TaylorMade driver and that got me to thinking about The Nike driver I never got, so when I got home and onto the eBay site and found one at a giveaway price I knew it was time to get it. It would be nice if I could say it's shaved 10 strokes off my game but there's the little matter of all those other clubs you have to play with. The Nike driver is giving me about 30 more yards off the tee so it was well worth the purchase, way better than the driver I was using. Anybody reading this already knows, if you want something good at a good price, eBays the place to get it. Thanks eBay!Read full review
I just started playing golf this last summer and was originally using cheap off brand drivers, but decided to buy a used Nike SQ Sumo 5000 late in the summer. One of my friends had one, and I had used for a few drives and loved the feel. Once I bought it, I instantly noticed the difference in my drives. Compared to no brand drivers, there's just a different pop of power you can feel. Good Produc. Shout to 3ballsgolf for the good product.
I know Nike does not have the great rep that Taylormade and others have but... My son and I shared a Nike Sumo 5000 driver this summer and we both hit straighter and longer drives, he especially. When he went back to college, I bought him one so he would have his owen. The sound it makes is impressive, everyone at the range will know you've hit one. My son tells me guys have stopped and watched him drive. I'd have to add that he has a great swing too. But what a great club. Now my oldest son who is a professional marketing manager has taken up golf so I immediately bought him the Nike Sumo 5000. As you can see, I am totally sold on this club. I can't tell you how many time I used to tell my friends if I could just hit one 225 down the middle I would be happy. Well, I now have the correct shaft and I am hitting drives 280 down the middle. I am so happy with the way this driver has made golf fun again. If you want to add distance and accuracy to your drives, GET ONE!!!!Read full review
I bought this club because I was unhappy with my driver, and the way that it was performing. I was also looking into putting a softer shaft on my driver, so this was the best of all worlds. Wow! I could not have asked for anything better than what I got out of this club first time on the range. Great contact, good ball flight, and it is very easy to read at address. Some people have complained about the sound (specifically how loud it is when you hit) but I love it! If you really get on one, it will make your ears ring, but it turns heads! This is a great club that has already delivered great performance thus far! Lots of fun to hit, and I got it at a fraction of the cost thanks to Ebay. I would recommend this club to any one that is a low to medium handicap player!
I have this driver in 10.5 degree and 16 degree lofts as well as an 11.5 degree loft. Since I rarely use a 3 wood except off the tee, I changed to the 16 degree driver for short holes or narrow holes. Unless I really have my A game cranked up or am facing a high wind situation, the 11.5 degree driver gives me a better launch angle and more distance than I can muster out of the 10.5 degree most of the time. I frankly think that most seniors would be well served to play a higher loft driver. I am 63 and my handicap is 14. I have this driver in both senior and regular shafts except that the 16 degree is senior only. The senior shaft version has a nice soft feel and I don't see much loss in accuracy, if any at all. I am also going to try the 13 degree loft.
