F. Paul Wilson and Steven Spruill team up for this suspenseful drama involving Jake Nacht (it's hard not to see Repairman Jack in these other novels!) Jake is a sniper for hire, mostly working for a bunch of mob goons, until they ask him to do a hit - but this time they set up how it is to go down. Against Jakes better judgement he agrees, and hense framed. I don't want to give away too much of the great story, but there are a lot of flashbacks to his youth, when he was trained to be a sharpshooter from his adapted father, Sarge. Really good stuff. It turns into somewhat of a medical thriller (which Wilson is great at) when Jake is hospitalized and completely defensless as he pieces together how and what went wrong. The book moves along at a steady pace, and keeps you glued to its pages to find out what is going to happen next. Its a short book, so it won't take long to finish. Enjoy!Read full review
