Without a doubt, this is the best way to learn a new language. It is taught the same way children learn to speak - you will learn naturally how to speak in present, past and futue tenses, without endless verb conjugations. The vocabulary is very comprehensive. I am doing it every day in my car as I drive to work, and plan to purchase Level III. My friend finished all three levels, and said he had no problems communicating in France.
Did Pimsleur I. First-rate. Learned a lot. And at my own pace. Love that part. Not surprisingly, the Pimsleur II module is more advanced, more complex. But the presentation of the material continues to be first-rate and the learning curve is still at my own pace. And no homework. I'm looking forward to the section where they teach French swear words. :-D
Excellent. I use it in my car and it is really helping me learn French phonetically. Learning the conjugations the way a child learns them is great. Learning to converse from a book just doesn't work.
