Lot's of research ahead of this purchase. Professionals rated the Milwaukee compact router and the DeWalt nearly identical in quality and features. I could of gone with either. I don't have religion on power tool "color". But I do have the Milwaukee batteries so that was my choice. My other router is a powered DeWalt. Excellent for my one-man manufacturing work.

Team red fuel always has great power but that’s about all there is to brag about. The micro adjuster is way too easy to adjust accidentally while handling the router. The accessories are crappy and limited. If I wasn’t so invested in team red I would have picked the yellow router. This would be good for someone who basic work. They do not offer a D handle, and the other bases are as pricey as the tool itself.

I used a harbor freight 1/2" straight cut bit on 3/4" mdf wood. Had it set I setting 1 of 6 and it cut without hesitation. I'm sure if I used a real bit from a company who builds quality sharp bits, I would of had much cleaner cuts. But the tool never hesitated. I went through 2 m18 5.0 batteries and it kept going. Never heated up to the point I felt it would fail. I had to clean my work of debris frequently otherwise my bit would have a hard time cutting and the dust would melt unto it causing less cutting. I guess I could of used the fancy vacuum attachment while I made these cuts.

The Milwaukee Compact Router is awesome for many reason first would be no cord to deal with the operator can focus 100 percent of the work being accomplished. This tool as high battery power demand so always start the work with a good fully charged battery. It's a Milwaukee it works.

This is an M18 cordless mini router. It works well for light jobs, it has good grip. The fine adjustment is great, I used it to make a round edge 5/64, and had to realign the bid height several times (after 2-3 boards). I use Allen key to tighten the grip between the base and the top, but I have to realign once every few boards. I bought it as I use Milwaukee M18 batteries. The tool is built well, but there are other options that cost less, as long that you have the right batteries. Also there are corded units, that cost much less.
