Better than first generation sensor
These little fellas are not only more modern looking, but have a stabler base and wall mount options. They use WiFi to communicate with the mothership and sip energy instead of guzzling batteries every few months. Easy to install, easy to use
The sensors are easy to install. I prefer installing them on a wall. They come with stands, but I want to them to be in some fixed spot. Adding them to Ecobee is also straight forward. Ecobee will automatically detect a new sensor and will ask if you want to add it. With multiple sensors, it is possible to adjust temperature based on readings from selected sensor. Totally worth it!
This cute little item really helped balance out the heating in the house. Eliminated hotspots by roomate who works out of dining room. I did not understand how this could make such a difference in my heating quality (without newe ducts etc.). It accurately senses us if we are there or not there and heats accordingly. These sensors are great for ensuring the temperature is fairly uniform throughout your home. Expanded the functionality of my ecobee 4s
Popped in the batteries and paired to my thermostats. Now most of the square footage in my house is covered. These are simple to pair with the main thermostat and a must have if you have temperature variation in your house. After buying a pair of these, I found out that my living room was five degrees colder than the rest of the house, but not anymore!
