Why did I buy: My current receiver quite having any output on the left channel. I wanted to replace my unit with the same or a comparable unit since I have four different base locations and a boom box that uses this receiver. Likes: This is a great receiver, it has a very strong fm signal transmitter output that can be picked up over several hundred feet from the base by any fm radio. You cannot buy this receiver from Sirius anymore and the only thing they try to do is sell you newer junk that is not near the same quality. I had a very bad experience with Sirius customer service on the phone trying to just find out what models were compatible with my equipment. Their customer service is horrible, could not speak English and could not answer any of my questions. I ended up finding and buying two of these receivers off of Ebay. this is the second one I've had of these radios. The first one lasted about 5 years before it crapped out, I bought this newold oneand it works great

I just purchased another sportster SP-R2 radio. These are the older receivers with the built in FM transmitter that can broadcast a signal to other radios in a 100 ft. radius. They are awesome and I don't know why they still don't make a receiver with that capability. Dennis

This is one of the best receivers I have used and would recommend it to others. Have the home kit too with speakers and it is awesome. The display is better on this unit and it is able to be used on its own internal battery while not in the house or vehicle.
The picture of the radio shows that the screen light is working and so are all the channel buttons but the screen light is not working and only a few of the channel buttons are lite. Other wise the radio is working except you need a flashlight to read the screen.
