This model, with the two steel retention cups, is the way to go. You do need the tool to install/de-install it, but there is no adjustment necessary. Spindle length is crucial, so compare to the bottom bracket spindle you are replacing. An incorrect spindle length throws off your chainline and can make shifting on the chainrings difficult if not impossible.

Double check your measurements - I got the right diameter but this was a size a bit too narrow but luckily my local bike shop got new crank screws that made up the difference. Aside from that, works smoothly and haven't had any issues.

A bit heavy side but all metal construction makes it work. A cheaper version of it has plastic cups. And gets rid of that strange noise when pedaling. You feel like bike is pedaling for u. Nice upgrade from stock open bearings. But u really need to know what's ur bb size is. ?? x ??? and Eng or not is extremely important.

Excellent quality. = Shimano Quality A reliable solution for a world deprived of regular LBS hours. A viable solution should one be stranded at the end of the world, very much unlike someone who has a pressed bb!

Rebuilding my early 90s mountain bike. The factory cartridge finally gave up on me. I installed this replacement cartridge and have been enjoying it ever since.. It's easy to install and has an all aluminum construction ( No plastic sides). If this is your first time be sure to by the tool to install it.. Good luck!!!
