The Avalanche really does work as advertised. I watched several YouTube videos before I got it and used it. As written in other reviews it is heavy, however, once you get it on the roof, the actual work to remove the snow is dramatically less than traditional roof rakes. I love that additional pole sections are available for purchase for more reach. The only real downer is that if it is windy, the plastic chute is difficult to manage and I worry about it catching on something and tearing. Be forewarned though if its calm out and you have a lot of snow on your roof, once you get this thing on the roof, the snow literally comes off the roof like and avalanche so you want to be ready.

Under certain conditions it works ok! There are situations where it requires a physical effort to push the unit. It takes some use to learn how to position the rake for best use!

This is a great product. Used it once and it was awesome. Easy to put together. Not too too heavy. Plenty long enough. A little expensive but I tried making one of these and it was broken in a few uses. The design lends itself to a good product, does not lift your shingles. I put the entire tool on hooks for storage. The only thing that is somewhat hard is rolling the plastic back up. And its durable, at least in the first few uses. I was afraid it would rip - but I didnt have an issues with it "so far". If you are careful, it will last a long time. Overall great product. I bought this design because i knew it was the easiest for me to clear my roof.

I live in Minnesota. We have received 48" of snow so far this winter. I used this snow removal tool to clear 15" of snow. It worked great. I rated the tool with 4 stars since the slide material tore on the first use. Little duct tape and all was well. I would recommend to others.

I bought this snow rake because I live in New England and my house is bad for ice dams on north roofs. Got a 20" snow and was really excited to try it out. In no time flat the whole back where the problems always developed the snow was down. The snow blower took it from that point. Then out of excitement I took it to the front where some snow was drifted to 3 feet. Fifteen minutes later it was clean to the top. The snow blower once again at work. Everyone thought I was a 70 year old superman. Making work fun.
