    If you love Neil Diamond, this album is one of his best. Shows his full range of songs, especially the African trilogy.....great value for the money. There are so many of his favorite hits all on this one album....great buy.

    Tap Root Manuscript by Neil Diamond

    While not necessarily Neil Diamond's most significant album, Tap Root Manuscript, which was released in 1970, has several songs which went on to become Diamond standards - "Cracklin' Rosie", "Done Too Soon", "He Ain't Heavy, He's My Brother", and "Soolaimon", which became one of Diamond's signature walkoff numbers when segueing into "Brother Love's Traveling Salvation Show". I also really like "Coldwater Morning". The "second side" from "Childsong" through the reprise of "Childsong" is an African-themed series of songs. While I have never been sure how authentic the rhythms and instruments used are, this collection foreshadows Diamond's much later work on the Jonathan Livingston Seagull album. Having nearly every other Diamond album on CD, I wanted to acquire this one that has some ...

    tap root manuscript

    This one I believe was one of diamonds best..it delt I think with a point of his life like jonathon livingston seagull did ...the album has some great openings then shifts in gears to something like a "mantra" with some great arrangements of an "african suite" you have to hear it to believe it..its like a song of hope and faith and searching for god and peace..I could not find it at all my local stores and lo and behold this seller had it ...Ive been listening to it b4 I sleep..get it!!!!boxerrunner42....

    Obviously this CD isn’t for those who like typical Neil Diamond. I had owned the LP of it but it has been lost. Great divergent music!
