Mag popper
Bought after years of messing up my hands every time I had to clean my mags after leaving the range and dropping my mags on the ground. I Tried it for the first the time other day and it works just as described and recommend it to all. I have not tried it on mags with aftermarket or extended mag floor plates but it does work great on stock floor plates. Very easy insert hook and rock the tool downward and it quickly comes apart. Very stout little tool and appears to be well made. Will buy again if needed. Works well with standard floorplates only!
I bought this tool to replace the standard and extended floor plates on my Glock 43 mags with +2 mag extentions. The tool performed perfectly on the standard floor plates popping them off effortlessly. The tool would not work on the Glock factory extended plate because the arm with the peg that pushes the locking pin in does not go over the lip of the extention to use the leverage of the tool. The result is the peg coming out of the locking pin hole before leverage is applied to release the plate. Thought I had finally found the perfect tool. Just a slight squeeze.....
Very compact, just insert tip of lever, give mag a slight squeeze and there you have it. It can remove baseplate just fine, I do however recommend applying a small amount pressure to the sides of mag with free hand to take some pressure off of the locking tabs on mag body, it will extend their usable life.Also there is a newer version of this tool that has a built in pin punch to drive out pins from frame. It is a bit more money, but if you want a tool for mag and pistol it fits the bill.Very compact, just insert tip of lever, give mag a slight squeeze and there you have it. Glock magazines are pain to open, therefore this thing is simply essential. I want to mention, any Glock 17 magazines configured for 15 rounds to comply with NJ rules have the base plate glued with superglue of some sort. If you have a strong desire to open such magazines, be careful while using this tool, it is possible to damage the hole in the plate, therefore do not apply too much force. I highly recommend this product, it helped me a lot!Glock magazines are pain to open, therefore this thing is simply essential.
