I first purchased this model back in 2010 the phone works great, very fast processor, great camera and great sound. This is my third Atrix MB886 I have purchased , unfortunately this model does have a flaw, which has to do with the sealed battery system, after about 3 years the phone seems to encounter problems charging and powering up especially if the battery completely drains to zero %. When this happens you wont be able to power up to transfer your contacts, pictures, etc.. I now make sure I back up everything on SD card and/or other back up app. Kind of a bummer but worth it to me to stay out of contract with AT&T.

If I could, I'd rate this 4.5 stars. Very good phone, and at a good price, especially for the prices found on ebay. WARNING: If you want to use Straight Talk - even with their AT&T sim card - to get Internet on it you almost certainly need get a "carrier unlocked" phone, and "root" the phone: Cyanogenmod has this phone ("MB886") on its device list, and there are other ROMs out there that you can use, so the phone will run the latest Android versions, as of this writing. So be prepared to tinker with it a bit, although the process is fairly easy if you are good at this kind of thing. LTE works very well, as do the other bands. Wi-fi compatibility is very good, as is bluetooth headset connectivity. Two sore points are: battery life and camera. The battery is NOT easily interchangeable, so it's good to try keeping the phone charged, or have a PowerSkin case - available at good prices on ebay - or other external battery. And the camera is decidedly below-par. Mine has an awful flash, that casts a blue tinge on everything. So, if you want a well-built phone with very good connectivity, including LTE, and you're willing to put up with below-par battery life and not-great camera, this is a real good choice.Read full review
only gripe...battery life is horrid! Great display love the gorilla glass I bought to replace a samsung captivate glide. My first non keyboard phone and I like it. I put it on st8 talk and found it easy to use. The widgets from motorola are extremely handy and I like the quick settings menu that you just swipe left screen to get to. I added the ballistic case and motorola navigation dock. Super fast and with a little skill easy to root but beware you cannot swap batteries easily.
Other than the battery life, it's a good phone. Good Talk quality, etc. My Atrix stopped working after two years, and I wanted an unlocked phone to activate on Straight Talk, but not to spend a boatload of money. Maybe its the updated OS, but battery life is 1/2 of the Atrix, and to my experience, the Atrix was just as fast connecting to internet, etc. Going to try to see if it is an app issue or if there is a software fix so battery lasts longer.
The Phone is good. Motorola used to have issues with the battery life I remember when I first used the Razr V3 phone and sequel models they were all poor as far battery life goes. With that being say I walk away from Motorola for a while btu decide to try this one. I cannot regret having this phone. You cold buy one here on ebay for less than 250 dollars and this phone rocks. They have change so much and android make it so much better. Phone is easy to use and pretty handy when it comes to internet browsing. Motoblur is a thing of the past with the atrix 2. I recommend if you like being on whatsapp facebook email apps this phone seems to run all these without no issues. Perfect Fit for someone who is on a budget and isntlooking into spend more than 300.00 dollars on a phone
