This thing is very convenient and reliable. I took it overseas to see my relatives and so I did want to rely on power mains with non-standard plugs. The provided batteries ran out quickly, but after I put new ones I was able to scan more than a hundred photos without any issues. 600 dpi is more than enough for old photographs, and in fact, I switched to 300 dpi, which yields 1800x1200 image dimensions and the quality was still very good. In 300 dpi mode, scanning takes about 5 seconds, but it takes about 10 seconds at 600 dpi. The only drawback I could think of is that the output files are all flagged as being recorded in portrait mode, but you can easily fix that later in IrfanView without recompressing JPEG, and not loosing any quality. It accepts SD cards up to 32 Gb. I was not able to read 64 Gb card, even though it was formatted as FAT32. Overall, it's a very good product for its price. Very lightweight, quick, and convenient.Read full review

In my Forever Ambassador business, I needed a small, easy to use, mobile scanner to take with me to events. The Flip-Pal was recommended and I LOVE it!!

Arrived today and seems to be in perfect working order. Put in batteries and gave it a test run - can see a scan on the screen. Posted promptly. Look forward to using it in future to scan family history photos etc.

An excellent product for the purpose intended. To have a reliable portable scanner when carrying out research away from your base is a huge plus. It can be time consuming scanning large documents but the stitching software works a treat and the final result is excellent. The portability and ease of use of this scanner means it is a must take item for every occasion research is undertaken away from base. There is no dislikes with this scanner, well done Flip-Pal.
Good for scanning large pages that won'f fit into normal flatbed scanners. The only downside I have seen is that it has a little trouble getting info near the binding. It would need a shallower trim for that.
