Remembering this TV series from when I was kid. The one that jump started Tom Cruise's career. Each episode is a complex tale of daring intrigue. Clever scripts and talented performers make each episode tense & fun to watch. The M.I. team members are be smartest bunch of operatives in existence. Each has a specialty and they make the bad guys look like monkeys, every time. Glad they are on our side.

As the 1960s gave way to the '70s, the decade's iconic espionage/caper show saw a major shakeup in its principal cast as Martin Landau (Rollin Hand) and Barbara Bain (Cinnamon Carter) left the show and Leonard Nimoy, fresh from the Starship Enterprise and sans pointed ears, arrived for a two-season stint as 'Paris the Great', a character as indistinguishable form Landau's Rollin Hand as Peter Graves' Jim Phelps character had been from Steven Hill's Dan Briggs character, whom he had replaced after season one. Season four also established Greg Morris (as electronics expert Barney Collier) and Peter Lupus (as strongman Willy Armitage) as the only two principal cast members who would stay on for the show's entire seven-season run. Except for Graves, Morris and Lupus, the Impossible Missions Force would become essentially a rotating cast of characters, which was consistent with creator Bruce Geller's original concept for the show and was facilitated by the intentional lack of backstory for the characters. In my opinion, this may have caused some viewers to lose interest over time. Regardless, the original Mission: Impossible remains an iconic artifact of its time and well worth watching by anyone who remembers it fondly from back in the day or who just enjoys a tightly crafted caper thriller.Read full review

with Martin Landau and Barbara Bain NOT returning they needed a new MAN OF A THOUSAND FACES and Leonard Nimoy takes that role as Paris~ Peter Graves, Greg Morris and Peter Lupus still remain~ on the lighter side they increase Willie's (LUPUS )role and he actually gets to speak instead of just being "muscle" to strong arm the BAD guys~ the only bad thing is there is no recurrent female member and it lags along the way~ occasional we see Lee Merriweather as a female agent she is OK but never quite holds our interest~ another stupid thing is they often just "disguised" Nimoy with a beard or fake hair and we know all along it is him in a BAD disguise rather than a MASK that looks like his "target"~ ALSO NIMOY has commented in the book Mission Impossible Episode Guide he did NOT enjoy this series and considers his taking this role a mistake` it shows~ Leonard~ I GIVE IT A 6 OUT OF 10 FOR GOOD TO VERY GOOD OVER ALL STILL HOLDS OUR INTEREST~ IF YOU FOUND THIS REVIEW HELPFUL~ PLEASE REMEMBER TO VOTE~Read full review

I love this show. I am a big Nimoy fan,and he is absolutely terrific in mission! It is a 1970s show,so if you are not into those you may not like it. But if you are you will love this!
