Surprising Quality for the Price
These plates don't have the slick finish as the $$$ plates but they are smooth with no rough edges. More important they fit the ARCA clamps perfectly. the plate is not a custom fit and as such it needs to be moved to replace the battery, access the opening for the cable release or change the SD card. Quality L Beacket for Less
It’s a solid piece and fits well. Of course I don’t have access to the auxiliary ports without removing it, but I haven’t used them and rarely will. It could be improved with a solid piece of grip covering where the plate meets the bottom of the camera. It also would benefit from two stop/safety screws on each plane. Right now there is one screw on each, so you could potentially slide the camera off to a crash in the other direction. I always put my camera strap around my neck when mounting and dismounting it on the tripod, so it’s not really a problem for me. But I thought it worth mentioning. I looked at L brackets costing more than 10 times the price of this one, and they had the same drawbacks. So if you have a standard Arca Swiss Tripp’s head—get this one. Arca type L-bracket works perfectly on my D610
...really happy with this Universal Arca Type Release L Plate Bracket Nikon on my Nikon D610. It fits perfectly, attaches securely to the camera and exactly fits my Arca-compatible Alta BH-100 ballhead quick release mount. The accessory terminal cover opens easily but both the HDMI/USB cover and microphone/headphone covers require just a little fiddling to get open without loosening the L-bracket. All-in-all, I was really surprised that the L-bracket was much better quality than I expect for something that cost less than 9 dollars. Arca compatible and the price is right!
I have a number of arca compatible clamps (the lower part that holds this plate), and needed some plates to attach to various LED lights, magic arms, and other grip fixtures. These do the trick.
