I love this stock
I’ve watched many reviews of this stock for both Mossberg 500’s and Maverick 88’s. I was sold on the ergonomics of the stock and the fact that it doesn’t hinder the use of the action bar release like the pistol grip with adjustable stocks do. After attaching the stock, it felt amazing! It’s awesome how much this changed the feel of the shotgun. I have definitely made the right choice with this one. It’s extremely sturdy, and just looks badass. You can’t go wrong with this one, especially if you’re looking to get a tactical stock which doesn’t effect the normal functionality of the action bar release. You will, however, need to remove the stock to remove the trigger assembly, so I would suggest that Magpul addresses this issue. I can use a rotary tool (Dremel), with a round bit to carve out the area around the trigger to make it so I can remove the trigger without removing the stock, but for now, I don’t want to carve into my brand new stock. No other negatives to report, and all in all, the pros definitely outweigh the 1 con imho.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New

If you own an 88 it's just not worth it.
If you own an 88 it's just not worth it. Have to change out the forwnd to a 7 3/4 and the safety hole which would be for the 500/590 has a plug that makes it feel cheap as it doesn't snap in flush with the stock.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New

Great product. Just wish you didn't have to loosen, or remove it to clean the gun.
Great product. Well worth the money. Very ergonomical and nice pad. Shot 3" slugs through it with a 28" barrel and butt pad worked great. Nice realistic adjustability without that floppy, loose crappy feel of the previous adjustable stock I had. I just wished, they would cut into the pistol grip a bit further back so the trigger group could come out without trimming the trigger group, or the new butt stock or loosening the butt stock in order to dis-assemble and clean. Also, I wish Magpul would have the stock come with the sling insert as well as the sling pice instead of buying that part separte. I mean this is almost a $100 or better butt stock it should come WITH the sling ring as an option or not to every buyer. Not a separate piece to order.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New

Magpul did it again!
This is literally the pinnacle of reliability, comfort and ergonomics when it comes to firearm's! But especially this hand gaurd & buttstock for my Mossberg 590a1 20" barrel shotgun. Such an incredible product that proves it's self time and time again. The sga stock is what should have came on the gun and is second to none over any other stock on the market. The m-lok feature really let's you put your accessories wherever you want them to go. Great placement and functionality. You can't go wrong with either or these two products! Magpul SGA Stock for Mossberg 590A1
Stock is well made, feels substantial in the hand, weight is close to stock even with limited sizing plates. Overall I am very happy with the stock. Removing the old stock was easy with a few hand tools and sockets. Installing the SGA was easy, the only complaint I have is the variants in the hardware used to mount the stock and for its adjustments. you will need allen keys to remove the sizing plate slider. Phillips for the buttplate. It would have been nice if magpul had used the same type of fasteners so adjustments could be made with fewer hand tools. Of course once you setup the LOP I suppose you wouldnt have to adjust it much, unless you use your shotgun winter/summer as I do, As such you may need to adjust for winter clothing or not.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New

The only negative about this stock is the options for sling attachment. The main option provided is a simple pass thru that allows you to simply weave the sling through the channel on either side of the stock. Unfortunately unless you make your sling or are willing to cut up a sling who has access to an end to run through the channel. My sling has hardware on either end that renders this useless. Worth every penny!!!
This made an old shotgun look entirely new. Went clay shooting last week after I installed the new parts and it felt like a new gun. Can’t wait to use it again. I received plenty of compliments on the upgrades. Went from a pistol grip rifle stock and old school heat shield and forend, to this below in the pics.

Excellent Stock for M3000
I bought this for my Stoeger M3000 shotgun. There's an adapter kit you can buy that allows you to mount this SGA stock made for the Mossberg 590 onto the Stoeger shotguns. Recoil was an issue with my factory stock. Not anymore! This stock handles recoil like a dream! The gun now shoots the way you would expect a quality shotgun to perform. I haven't fired my Mossberg 500 with this new stock, but I'm expecting a good experience. The recoil pad on the Magpul is definitely squishier than the factory pad, and most importantly, this stock is 1.5 inches shorter, which makes the length of pull more manageable. Great Shotgun Stock
My stock arrived today in the original box/packaging, despite waiting 2 weeks since making payment. Installation on my Mossberg 590A1 was a breeze (2-3 mins); fitment was spot on (no gaps, seamless), and tight (no wobble or give). Immediately took it out and put 25 shells thru it... AWESOME! Don’t skimp and buy some knock-off or cheaper garbage because they throw in a “free shell holder”. It’s garbage and IT WILL FAIL! I’m happy to say my 18mm “home defense” gun is now complete. LOL
