I have been looking at batting machines that can do the job but not cost a fortune. I needed something for my 12 yr. old granddaughter and earlier bought a battery operated machine that was low in price. It turned out to be totally worthless. I came across this machine totally by accident and thought about no batteries or electric cords. It was affordable if it did the job. I thought long and hard, the reviews were good so I took the plunge. I'm really happy I did. It is just what I needed. This is a quality piece of work and should last a long time. It will work just as good for adults as kids. It has adjustments so you can place the ball any where you want it. I was having no problem at 40ft and one adjustment lets you shoot fly balls. I would highly recommend this if you have little leaguers that need batting practice. Be sure you have plenty of balls.Read full review

My son was tired of me pitching to him when half the pitches made him duck or run. With a bucket of balls, it is a little more work than going to a batting cage and having machine throw the ball. However, there are a lot of variables (weight of each ball; placement of ball; three different main adjusters and a microadjuster. Once you get it all set up, it's pretty decent. The machines at the batting cages don't always throw exactly the same way, either. This machine gives decent speed and location for senior league (up to 18 yr old) batting practice. Doesn't hit the batter, but will vary inside/outside, sometimes over the head, sometimes in the dirt, but mostly will reach from 60 ft from plate around a large strike zone. Need a minivan or a really large trunk to carry it to park if you don't want to dismantle anything (mainly the "T" with one knob, I fear wearing it out if its assembled/disassembled too often. The machine is great. It is easy to transport, from garage to backyard, or in the car to the field. And, because it requires no power you can use anywhere. The set-up is simple, and changing between pitches, pop-ups and grounders is very easy and straightforward. I’ve used it for both baseball and softball. Changing the settings is so simple that we alternate buckets of balls rather than having to do all of one first, then the other. The increased pop-up capability works great. We’ve used it on the field to send towering fly balls into the outfield, and also adjusted it to launch mini pop-ups in the back yard. The manual spring-loaded arm provides plenty of power to throw fast pitches, hot grounders, and deep fly balls. If you have kids that play ball a lot, like rec league and travel, this is a great addition to have for your practices.Read full review

The Louisville Slugger is an excellent pitching machine. My four grandchildren (aged 8 thru 12) and their friends love it. It is extremely easy to set up and use, and the consistency of the pitches is remarkable. In the few weeks we have it, they are all showing improvement in contacting the ball both with respect to the machine, and more importantly in their actual games. I strongly recommend the machine without one bit of hesitation.
