Unlike adding a traditional access point to your network to expand wireless coverage, the Wireless-G Range Expander does not need to be connected to the network by a data cable. Just put it within range of your main access point or wireless router, and it "bounces" the signals out to remote wireless devices. This "relay station" or "repeater" approach saves wiring costs and helps to build wireless infrastructure by driving signals into even those distant, reflective corners and hard-to-reach areas where wireless coverage is spotty and cabling is impractical. The Range Expander is perfect to help cover large areas in multi-story homes, warehouse environments, public spaces, wireless "Hot Spots", and outdoor venues - anywhere you need extra coverage for your wireless network. The Wireless-G Range Expander is compatible with the Linksys WAP54G Access Point, and both the WRT54G and WRT54GS Wireless Routers. It works with both Wireless-G and Wireless-B clients so you'll get the benefits of increased coverage, even with a mixed network.     What can you say about one of these as they are not meant to look good. It does however, do everything it claims to do which is a bonus oh and .....it doesnt look that bad either.

    It works, just be prepared for slower speeds.

    I purchased this to extend coverage out to my detached garage that I have a laptop set up in. Setting it up was rather simple, plenty on instructions online, to follow, so setup was easy. Once set up and placed in my 3 seasons poach my first impression was WOW I have 3-4 bars of signal on my WIFI now as I had nothing before. Than I was able to get signal, I was happy until I did a speed test and was a little bummed, but hey I have signal where as I did not before. It was all great until I actually sat in my porch with my iPad and tried to access the internet. My normal browsing on that half of the house really sucked compared to before, range extenders cut your bandwidth pretty much in half so your going to browse at half the speed as before.     Big Improvement!

    Much more powerful than the previous Linksys Extender that we had installed. Had been using the AC1200 model RE6700. House is L-shaped and the RE6700 signal had been quite weak at the far end. Immediately upon replacing with the 7000, there was a huge increase in signal. We have 1900 square feet and this is a great, inexpensive solution over the Velop infrastructure.

    Puts WiFi all over the house with this extender

    I have a weak signal in part of the house. This router brings WIFI to the rest of the house and my cell phone gets its wireless signal all over the house now. Easy to configure and auto-setup is as simple as pushing a button for WiFi routers that don't have a security key. You will love this range extender.
