I love this mic . A friend of mine turned me on to this mic . I have 5 of the Shure SLX mics and 4 of the Line 6 mics . On gigs w/ other people using Shure products , same frequency , I would get hits and need to change channels . So far , no problems w/ the Line 6 . The battery on the Line 6 last a lot longer too . My Shure SLX will go from 2 bars ( 3 bars is full ) to dead very quickly . The Line 6 can be in the red ( last bar ) and still last for 5-10 minuetes . The Shure SLX reciever is displayed in black , while the Line 6 is diplayed in green bar lights and battery life will go red when low . Very helpful to see whats going on at a glance . Another feature on the Line 6 is the antennae has a in / out , so that when you're using several mics in a rack , you can connect them all together and have only one set of antennae's . You would need to buy a antennae distro to do this w/ the Shure mics . I ended up using 2 single space rack blanks and drilling holes to mount the antennaes . 4 sets of antennaes for 4 units . The Line 6 has 1 set of antennae for 4 units .The Line 6 antennae is also like Shure's upgraded antennae's , not like the 1/2 antennaes that come w/ the unit . The Line 6 has mic modeling built in too . 58 , Beta 58 , OM5 and Senn models . I love this feature as I can use the Audix OM5 model for singers yet switch it to a Beta 58 when I'm using it as a emcee mic . The mic will also take capsules from other brands too .Read full review
I sing in a Southern Gospel Quartet and we have been debating on whether or not to switch to a wireless microphone system to clean up the stage and give us more freedom/flexibility while performing. I was afraid the sound quality would not be as good as our wired counterparts and was hesitant to say the least. Well....after receiving the Line 6 xd-v70 I'll NEVER use another wired mic again if it's up to me! This system is UNBELIEVABLE and we are absolutely in love with it. It sounds so much better than our wired setup because the gains are better also. We don't have to worry about feedback in smaller places which makes dialing in the system so much easier. If you are considering going wireless you will not be disappointed with this system. The price is great. The quality is second to none. There are 7 different mic options available if you have a preference for a particular type of sound. That's insane! We'll never turn back now!Read full review
As both a mobile DJ and a live sound engineer, these microphones are AMAZING. Wireless systems are always subject to interference, but this system has been flawless so far. The best part of these systems is the mic modeling that changes it to sound like a Shure SM58 or a Shure Beta58, or a Sennheiser. The only con I could think of is the power/mute button on the handheld unit can be difficult to push because it is recessed very deeply into the chassis. Highly recommended. Just bear in mind-- you are limited to 12 maximum units (can be less if there are competing signals) in a given scenario such as school plays.
