I have a Magnum 100SG spool gun hooked to a Lincoln 210MP welder. It worked fine running 4043 and 5356 aluminum wire, but only in short bursts of no wore than a couple of inches. Longer runs would result in the wire burning back and fusing to the contact tip. The contact tips provided with the spool gun are the sane tapered tips used for the MIG gun that comes with the welder. T hey work fine for mild and stainless steel, but the higher temperatures used in welding aluminum overheat the tapered tip causing more friction and ultimately the burn-back. The KP2744 tips handle the heat much better and eliminated the burn-back. From now on. I won't use anything else.
