The Lee universal case expanding die see...
The Lee universal case expanding die seems to be "universal" for all case neck diameters but that makes it kind of crude on the way it operates. It uses cones to expand the case mouths and not a stepped mandrel like rcbs makes for each caliber. The step up on the mandrel causes the case mouth to expand and flare. I haven't tried the Lee expander yet and.it may work fine, just use to what I have gotten from rcbs.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New

Universal neck expanding Die
I like Lee products, and this one is no exception. The price is right, and it works quite well, at least as well as the high-priced versions. You'll need to take your time to make sure that your getting just the right amount of case flare, but once it's set up, it works just fine. This die makes loading cast bullets into rifle cases much easier and helps to eliminate lead-shaving. If you load cast bullets, this is the ticket.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New

Does it's job when set up properly
This is not for everyone. If you are loading any kind of cast based bullets this is pretty much a must have. It basically flares the case mouth out slightly so the seating process doesn't damage the bullet or it's coating. It takes a bit of fiddling around to get it set up right but after that it's definitely good to go. I would recommend putting your case in the shell holder and putting it up as far as it can go without the die in the hole. After that screw the die in until the correct expander is touching the case and then adjust from there.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New

I reload the 300 blackout. Maybe one is offered now, but a year ago they did not offer one for the 300. It works great. I have also bought 2 more just to cut apart per my needs to make dies for the larger cal like the 56-56 case for bullet seating. This product is genius. I had a similar idea when a friend said he was having problems seating flat based bullets in his .223 rounds. I had seen a hand tool that does what this one does. However I felt it may not keep the mouth concentric. Then, I was rummaging through some of my catalogs. And, viola! there it was in my Lee Precision catalog eureka. I knew I must have one. One thing about reloaders. If we encounter a problem, and the market does not have a solution. Valuable Die
Fortunately I found on the Smith & Wesson Forum someone had recommended using this die in the reloading 22 of Remington Jet bottleneck cases. It was a savior as I was able to expand the mouth of the cases enough to allow proper seating of bullets. The sizing die with expander and decapper is inadequate. Handgun dies normally come with a second die to slightly expand the mouth of the case for bullet seating however the small .22 caliber cartidges used in rifle/handgun (22 Hornet, 22 Remington Jet, 218 Bee) only have two dies one for sizing and one for bullet seating.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New
