Love this little pedal. I use this with the Echo Baby pedal and really have fun with both of them. I just sit them on top of my amp and they take up hardly any room. Amp 50 has just the amount of crunch I needed and don't have to turn my amp up as loud now but is still clean with some dirt in it. This is played through my Fender Blues Jr. amp all tubes, and this will crank. It does give it more head room. too. I leave it on all the time and may turn it up here and there depending on song, but for most part leave it about half way up and leave it alone. You can turn it up all the way and get some good sustain if needed, though I'm sure there are much better pedals suited for heavy metal. I play Blues and early Rock n Roll and it has been a lot of fun. I've always played my guitar clean for many years and relying on natural tube break up which is a good thing and still do, but this pedal helps it along quite nicely. I'm not a big fan of pedals, but the size of this being compact was a big feature for me and it delivers. Can't get any simpler to use.Read full review

I've owned/used probably two dozen (easily) models of Lovepedals over the last several years. There's always some great sonic quality that just makes my ears happy, but I usually find that that quality was what feels solely focused on in the build and the rest of the idea feels... unfinished. This is probably in my top three of Sean's ideas and feels easily like the most finished thought. I feel it works best with more 'vintage' voiced pickups, but is great if you want something that doesn't sound like most of the mass-marketed OD's.

Unlike any other tiny box I've ever owned, I hunger to get home and plug this in. And, the way the feeling wells up inside when I play seems a prelude to rapture. Could it be this feeling that inspired the name: Church of Tone? Seriously, this pedal does create a rather dramatic feeling about what your playing. And, it may seem a contradiction, but it is both warm and bright at the same time. I think the warmth comes from the dynamic quality where the more natural aspects of the guitar comes through, and the brightness comes in the crunch that decorates the attack of your notes. The overall effect is sweetly expressive. The COT is also capable of getting some more saturated effects, which can be tightened up if you drive it with less bottom end (as with a bridge pickup). (Personally, I often "pre-treat" all my distortions, overdrives, and fuzzes with a Fulltone Robin Trower Overdrive (RTO), which has turned out to be the best at adding control, range, and expression to other such pedals.) But, generally, I do not bother trying to get heavier distortions out of this; it's sweetness is found at and below the middle range of crunch. All in all, I must confess this rare passion that emerges when playing through this pedal. It's not the only thoroughbred in my stable, but it is by no means a one trick pony. It will hold a sacred place in my heart for many years to come.Read full review
Seriously, this pedal is magic. I run it either alone (Very FAT, very TIGHT bottom end, withan exceptionally CLEAR top end). Or I use it to add some MOJo to one of my other overdrives (COT50 loves to boost my ETERNITY FUSE). If you love single-coils, (think Hendrix, Trower, etc.), this pedal is a must-have. The amazing thing is that it works brilliantly with humbuckers as-well. I LOVE this Lovepedal. Sean Michael has God's ears as far as I'm concerned...
Even when this is a single pot and half the size of any standard overdrive pedal, it can do more that many competitors. It's not cheap, but they are have made with "love". If you want to push your single channel amp into overdrive this little guy give sparkles. Not recommended for solid-state or modeling amps.
