The PK7 is a solid choice in bluetooth speakers, for the right price. The list price for a new unit runs $250 which puts you in the territory of a LOT of other fantastic speakers so you better be getting a great unit if you spend anywhere near that price. The problem is that while the PK7 is a good speaker with good sound quality and a fairly full sound, that experience doesn't translate as well in open space as it does in a quiet medium-sized room. As the volume gets louder the speaker does a rather nice job of keeping things like bass and treble in check so that details aren't totally lost, but then again the speaker doesn't get as loud as I expected to - especially given its size. Sure, it's louder than your typical JBL Flip speaker and has a more full sound but that's only because of the sound processing enhancements that you can turn on to boost vocals and bass performance, which comes at a cost to the battery. Speaking of the battery, it's big and very strong yet not quite as good as advertised. The LED lights are nice to play with but they're a noticeable detriment to the battery life (probably kills 10-15% of your battery life if they're always on while music is playing) as is playing music above 50-60% volume, which is needed if you're going to be outside where this speaker's design suggests it's meant to be played. This can mean the 22 hour advertised battery life with the lights on and playing above middle volume can quickly drop to the battery expectancy to somewhere around 12-14 hours. That's not terrible by any means but the 22 hour battery life then feels a bit gimmicky because it doesn't measure the way LG intended the speaker to be used - with lights on and the volume up a bit. I like the speaker and I'm not disappointed to own it but I think I'll be looking elsewhere for more of a boombox-capable speaker. If you find this speaker for under $100 it's a hard deal to beat but it can be equaled or beaten by lesser-known brands and that's something to consider. It's also worth noting that my speaker had issues staying connected to Bluetooth. I don't know why this was an issue but every 10-15 minutes I'd have to reconnect to the speaker and that was annoying. It's quite possibly a glitch (I bought mine refurbished) that never got ironed out. Read full review

If you can get this speaker for less than $150, it's a good speaker. At retail price, it is far less than average for it's class. Handle seems a little flimsy, but the lights are nice. Good battery life. Used it for about an hour per day for 10 days after full charge, still has 30% battery left. Bass and sound is nice, but not quite loud enough.

For the price and the refurbished unit look like OEM new and comes in orginal retail box which can't be beat. Awsome sound and build quality and it look like new which you cannot tell from the orginal.

This speaker is awesome. i was so concerned about some reviews saying it was to quite. When it got to me i looked up fixes and instantly found out the had a new firmware that has a loud setting to increase dBm's by 8 hahahaha. so now its more then loud enough and still sounds great. bass maybe lacks slightly but man the clarity in the highs are awesome. the light show that it has to is also awesome i was surprised LG went that rout but i love it, watching the woofers move i swear almost 1/2 an inch in a cool flash of light is awesome. im thinking of buying a second haha. I hope Meridian and LG can make a sucesor to the PK7 that is maybe another 5 or 8 dBm's louder while bringing the bass up a bit. and maybe even adding to the light show both brightness and customization. battery life seems great too. Great sounding speaker, I also have the PK5 speaker, this PK7 is more powerful with great highs. Both the PK5 & the Pk7 have the colorful lights, but the sound of the pk7 speaker is clearer. I can't wait for the summer to take it to the park.
