    LG G4 Smartphone

I purchased the unlocked AT&T version of the LG G4 phone for use on the Tracfone network. I had to reset the APN settings in order to receive data service on the Tracfone network. The phone was easy to set up and works very well. I did not like the various AT&T apps that came on the phone. If I wanted to make a call and pressed the Phone icon or the Contacts icon to screen would try to load an AT&T address book that did not exist. Touching the "back" arrow would take me to the proper phone section or contact list. When trying to return to the home screen from an app would continually show me default screen with 3 home screen choices and I would have to hit OK to return to home screen that I had previously designated. On the next phone purchase I may try an unlocked International model to see if there is less bloat ware. I am satisfied with the phone and look forward to getting more familiar with all of its features.

A nice phone on paper but has hardware issues

The phone looks very nice, has a very good specs on paper, and the price is very attractive. However, this phone has a lot of hardware issues. I have the phone for 1 day and have to return it back. The phone showed the following problems: 1. Half screen did not work. The screen split into two parts horizontally, and half worked. The other half showed a static signal. So the phone was not usable at all. It happened on both Android OS v5.1.1 (Lollipop) and v6.0 (Marshmallow). That means it is not the software problem, but rather the hardware problem. 2. Overheating problem. A short usage (30 min) of the phone with some downloading and setting made the phone back feeling hot. In winter, it would be good to warm your hand, but at room temp you wouldn't want to hold it. Overheating may cause performance problem. Other reported problems: with these two problems, I can not use the phone, and have to return it after one day. Besides the above problems, many people reported that the phone has root loop issue on manufacturing date before 09/2015, and also after 09/2015. I am lucky to have the screen problem on first day, so I can return it back. If these issues happened after 1 year warranty expired, you may have to repair it using your own money. Even worse, there are reports that after LG replaced the board assuming that it fixed the root loot problem, the root loot problem comes back again after short period. That means even LG does not know how to fix the problem. It is pure luck if you get a good or bad LG phone. Who wants a $300 phone waiting for the hardware problems to come anytime? So be wise: stay away from LG phones.

  • My wife is very happy with it!

This phone is made with the same perfection as the iPhones. I just marvel at the perfection in these items. That said, my wife wanted a smart phone for quite a while and then bought this one at a very good price. The cameras and pictures are phenomenal. She uses it quite a bit with Whatsapp and it works flawlessly. She also uses the app to fly her 3dr drone.... Even the phone works perfectly! Imagine that! She now ASKS this thing for answers (instead of me...) and, surprisingly, it usually gives her answers! Altogether, really a very nice item which I would recommend highly.

  • Arrived barely working!

I desperately needed a new phone, and this arrived with a defective battery. I would fully charge it, use it to make a brief call, and it would go from 100% to 45% battery life within 30 minutes, and be down to zero before 2 hrs passed. LG offered to fix it, but then I'd have the equivalent of a refurbished phone, instead of a brand new phone that should have worked without this kind of problem. I went back to a Samsung, put out more money, and am thrilled with what I got.

  • Freedom to move. Lots of options.

The Good: + US991 model will work fully with AT&T, T-Mobile and Verizon Wireless networks (and pre-paid MVNO's). It does *partially* work with Sprint, but lacks all the necessary bands for service with them. + Factory Unlocked means, no carrier bloat; Phone is as light and efficient as it could be + Great value for a fully featured phone + Still one of the best cameras on a phone to date + Lots of extended battery options + Qualcomm Quick charge support + the subtle curve of the front makes it pleasing to hold for calls and is not enough to distort viewing of videos + SD card slot claims to support up to 2TB microSD cards... The Bad: - Lack of unlockable bootloader means no rooting options work. Which means no Magisk, no SuperSU, nothing. Which also means being bombarded with ads. - because of said ads in apps (*especially* YouTube), battery life is only marginally better than a Moto X Pure Edition on stock battery. - Latest updates still leave it on Android 6.0 Marshmallow. - Painfully slow charging without Quick Charge support. - "double tap to wake" feature on G4 is inconsistent per my usage - (infrequent, but) performance throttling tends to drop inputs if playing games on the phone, for me.

  • LG G4 US991 Unlocked

Its been a month since i purchased my LG G4 and i am in love with it, Love its amazing camera. Also, love the the extra battery with charging cradle and an extra leather back cover. However, the additional vudu voucher and rhapsody vouchers are absolutely useless.

  • Good cheap phone with some added perks

IPad dg3 the flex2 and now the G4 because every time I get on eBay I seem to find these phones very much cheaper than any of the other phones in it's class. The G3 was used in the battery life sucked and had a meat processor. The flex2 was great with a fast processor and decent battery life but it's screen could have used a little bit more sharpness. The G4 has the best of both worlds with a great screen and a decent processor that runs anything including intensive games quite smoothly plus it was updated to marshmallow but only the 6.0 version. I've had one issue and one issue only with these phones is that the indicator light does not seem to want to work when it comes to messages or email and sometimes I will see that I have a voicemail and it won't even show me that I had a missed call but then when I go into my call log it shows the missed calls. 730 buckson Vudu movies and extra battery charger and 30 days of Rhapsody well compensates for the fact that it seems that the only issue is the LED indicator light and that's happened with multiple LG phones so you can handle that by this and you'll be happy for at least a year too plus you'll get some music and movies free with it

  • Would be great.... too bad camera no longer works!!!!

I wasn't impressed. I did purchase the LG G4 as a factory refurbished product, so I guess I should have half expected trouble. LG is generally known to have fairly rock solid products, which guided and influenced my purchase, in addition to all of the desirable features and qualities implied with this model of LG phone. After checking out the phone on day 2, the camera just decided to no longer start up. After doing research, I found out that this was a "common" issue with the G4 - Hmmm- not good!! I did all of the recommended "fixes" to no avail. Therefore I sent it back. I was truly bummed because I had very high expectations for what should have been a very high quality phone.

  • Old Android operating system

When I bought this I was hoping it would have been running at least Android marshmallow, but I was disappointed to see that it was still running lollipop. So I quickly referred to the software settings to seek out a software update but was prompted by a message stating that I was on the latest software version for my handset. I've also noticed some missed touches when inputting commands on the screen of this handset.
