Hopefully this provides you better info about the phone, the previous post seemed to be about the seller. For a low cost, no-contract phone, this is the best. Personally, I don't talk on the phone a lot, I actually prefer to send texts to talking on the phone. Unlimited email, texts and web is great for that, probably would be a good phone for pre-teens/teens as well. I love the Opera Mini browser on the phone. I can access my fantasy football page (set my lineup, make changes to my roster, follow the scores), watch eBay listings, get scores on ESPN and NFL.com, you name it. For a mobile brower, the pages load pretty fast, nice little menu to store your favorite sites and easy to save to the background so you can make phone calls, send texts and get right back on the web without waiting for the browser to re-load. The email function is also nice. You can access all the big boys (Yahoo, Hotmail, AOL, Gmail, etc) and sync your account anytime to see new emails. You can even set it up to give you alerts when your not in the email app. Great when you're waiting on a email but don't want to sync it every 30 seconds. I even got into the social networking apps a little. You have all the basics: Twitter, MySpace and Facebook. The only thing that I didn't love was the size of the keys on the keyboard. I don't have huge hands, but I always had a problem with the 'M' key. I would think the keyboard would be more conducive to most women or teens. Overall, this is a great alternative to being locked into a two year contract and possibly being stuck with a phone or plan you don't want anymore. Even the $60 plan, which gives you unlimited everything, is very reasonable and you don't have to worry about the credit check. Hope this helps!Read full review
I got this phone wanting something "smart" yet cheep. I could say you get what you pay for. The phone is not the greatest but does do quite a bit for the price. On the down side the calendar does not have bi-weekly event settings. the phone hangs up when answering calls 9 out of 10 times. The google calendar sync does not work at all if you title things wrong. On the plus side, its virgin mobile. I am saving tons and I get a browser now. I like the fact you can look up a place in the browser then click on the number and it dials the place right away (slick). I also like the messaging which is what this phone is really made for. You can message away that stated I don't like that when you use the keyboard the t9 does not work. So its got some rough edges. I think its worth the price but just makes me want a real smart phone. Sad thing the Samsung intercept doesn't really look like a big jump either. I would buy it but neither phone has a flash plug-in. This means it probably does not work with pandora, hulu and who knows what else. So is the next phone really worth $100 more??? This phone will do youtube which I think is cool but missing a lot of features.Read full review
I purchase a similar phone about three years ago. I dropped it, i kicked it, it became dull and scratched. All the shiny chrome came off. It became my pocket companion, allways working. It did not survive going through the wash with my cloths. I bought a newer model, a one piece. It was too short to talk comfortably and it did not have all the memory options. I really liked my old friendly phone with no internet or camera. I just need to sent and receive phone calls. It stands ready on standby for about a week between charges.
I bought my pink Flare phone to replace the Flare I lost, so obviously I like this model of phone. I wanted pink, because it is a pretty color and may be harder to lose next time! I didn't want to pay a lot for a phone. I didn't need a camera for example. I just need it for calls and text. This phone has clear sound quality, and I make and receive calls without any problem. I like the way it flips open and the keys are protected inside. I also like the phone's curved shape. It is extremely comfortable to hold. The phone is easy to charge and holds the charge well. Although this phone has the ability to surf the web, I have never used this feature so cannot comment. I have always been happy with a Flare phone, and it is great to know if it gets lost or damaged I haven't spent a fortune!Read full review
I chose the Virgin Flare cell phone for my husband because it is simple, easy to use, good basic features and the numbers a large so it's easy to see. We are senior citizens so it serves our purpose of having a cell in case of emergency and more security. Virgin Mobile plan is affordable for us and makes sense and worry free because if the phone gets stolen or misplaced without us realizing it we won't lose that much money. We are able to replace the phone. The instructions to connect the Virgin Flare phone are very easy to follow, if I could do it anybody can do it. Dot Cells Mobile Phone were prompt with in confirming the order and kept us inform on the progress of the shipment. We received the phone as scheduled. Thank you, Carol
