When the fixed angle sharpener arrived, I sharpened 5 knives. It got every knife razor sharp, one of which is a thick hunting knife. It’s pretty hard to make a mistake since it is a fixed angle, as long as you set the angle correctly to begin with. I sharpened blades of 5 different designs and they are all sharp from end to end but you do have to follow instructions, keeping the blade edge parallel to the blade rest in order to do the best job on blades with a deep belly/curve. Two minor complaints. The surface that you rest the blade on can mar the flat of the blade. It’s just superficial but noticeable. I placed painter’s tape on the surface, which helped but I’m still looking for a better fix. Also, the sharpening arm which holds the sharpening stones doesn’t raise upward as much as I’d like. This only matters when I’d like to lift the stone off the blade and slide the arm. It gets in a little bind and can cause you to tip the sharpener, drop the blade or slide the sharpener on the tabletop. . I’ve seen the fixed angle sharpeners made of stainless (I think) but never used them. This sharpener is plastic but feels very sturdy and for the price, I’m extremely happy with it.Read full review

Great sharpener for the price. Everything in the picture is included. Case, cloth, marker, 4 stones and the sharpener itself. Biggest drawback is that you hold the blade in place while you run the stone over the blade. It is difficult to repeatably keep the knife at the same angle which is critical. I'm probably going to make a new stand with a simple reliable clamping system and re-use all the other parts that came with this kit. I have an expensive chefs choice sharpener that doesn't work as well as this $20 setup. Great value. Spend 10 minutes reading the directions or watching someone on youtube operate a similar system. You will very satisfied with the results. Your friends and family will think it's creepy how much you enjoy sharpening your knives. Just an added bonus. Even though my kids thought it was strange, next thing you know they want to try it. Once you get the knack of operating the stones it kind of feels good. Happy Knife Sharpening.Read full review

It is pretty sturdy and easy to use, definitely worth 20 bucks, the only downside is that the range of the guide rod is limited in one direction meaning that to go full length on larger blades you have to use the same side of the sharpener. Overall it is definitely worth a try for those looking for a quick way to sharpen their knives.

I first picked an old utility knife sitting in my toolbox and within 15 minutes had a nice sharp edge on it. I initially had a problem with the suction cup feet not holding but I replaced those with some very similar but thicker feet I found at Lowes. It now stays stuck to the table very well. I'm not sure about the quality of the included stones but those can be replaced if necessary.

It a good sharpener did a great job but the stones are very soft! I sharped 4 knifes and now I need to find replacement stones. I ensured I used plenty of water but the stones wore quickly!
