I love Seagal. I enjoy everything he's made. Some on a camp value level, others I truly enjoy as a well made film. And, after "Fire Down Below", his quality of film greatly declined. Now days, he's safely secure on his DTV throne and he did go through a phase of mediocre or straight poor films. Last year, "Urban Justice" and "Pistol Whipped" were HUGE steps up and showed Seagal in a quality of film just below his theatrical prime. Now we have "Kill Switch"... "Kill Switch" in many ways reminded me of "The Glimmer Man", minus the Cogressional espionage and weapons ties. Here, Seagal battles a pair of serial killers as a Memphis Detective. Fair enough. The script was plausible, the cast had many unknowns but ones who can pull their weight and selected with care. The sets were good and the lighting makes all the difference in the world, believe it or not. Watch his movie "Attack Force" and tell me lighting and scene set up don't make or break a film. Now, what every wants to hear, the fights! The fights...are not what Seagal is capable of. Tons of flash cut edits, and you hardly see his face, so you keep thinking you see a stunt double, which is very possible. The fights were dragged out, lots of slamming and throwing and little punching/akido martial artistry. I felt cheated in all honesty. Seagal made a decent effort with this one. But it's a tit-for-tat feel, while we have good production values and a very improved screenplay, we lost Seagal's signature fights and prowess. Maybe next time around he can get it straight, huh? All in all, I can recomend it.Read full review
The dvd arrived at my door step rather quickly from the time I ordered it on Ebay. It arrived in perfect condition in the wrapper. The dvd itself had no visible scratches on it and I watched it from start to finish with no problems such as freezing or skipping due to scratches. It really was a brand new dvd for an awesome price.
