Jack (Robin Williams), is the story of a ten-year-old child who was born premature with an exaggerated form of Werner's Syndrome, which causes him to age at a rapid pace. By the age of ten, he looks like he is forty. Several of the other kids badger and bully him because of his condition. Jack has very limited interaction with anyone but his parents and tutor, Mr. Woodruff (Bill Cosby), who introduces the idea that he be allowed to attend public school. His parents allow this but have reservations that he may be emotionally hurt. At first the other kids exploit him because of his size by choosing him for their teams in sports, or getting him to purchase girly magazines. He makes friends with Louis, and attempts to live as a normal child, and he deals with his first crush and heartbreak, and the relationship with his teacher, Miss Marquez (Jennifer Lopez). Experiencing a fall while leaving school, he is rushed to the hospital where doctors explain that he is experiencing something similar to angina that was caused by receiving a shocking severe strain. His Werners Syndrome is speeding up his body clock and is endangering his health. To his disappointment, his parents withdraw him from school. Sneaking out, Jack goes to a bar and gets drunk. Here he befriends Paulie (Michael McKean), and tries to pick-up Dolores (Fran Drescher), the mother of his classmate Louis. He gets into a fight with another man and is arrested. Dolores bails him out and upon returning home, locks himself inside his room for weeks. His mother understands his depression. He realizes the fragility of his situation, and figures that there isn't any reason to continue his studies, since he will probably never have the time to use any of the knowledge. The other kids keep coming over to his house trying to get him to come out and play, but he refuses. Finally, his friend Louis brings the whole class of students to his house and they all take turns calling him out to play until he finally relents and goes back to school. The movie jumps ahead seven years to where he and his four best friends are graduating from high school. Jack is the valedictorian, and delivers a speech about taking advantage of ones time and "making your life spectacular". The film ends with the four, and an elderly looking Jack, driving away down the road into their future lives.Read full review

This movie takes me back to when I used to watch it with my siblings. It is funny, heartwarming, a tearjerker, and a feel good film! I adore Robin Williams, and his ability to get in touch with his inner child in Jack is priceless! I'm so shocked every single time because I keep forgetting that Jennifer Lopez is in it! But she does a great job! I look forward to receiving it in the mail and introducing it to my boyfriend!
Robin Williams is A-Mazing in this! This is such a touching story, and filled with a great cast. It will make you laugh AND cry.
