Great shade for a pool
I originally started looking into plans to build a shade or cover over our pool, or a large enough canopy to fit over our pool to no avail. Then i stumbled across this shade that would work with our unltra frame pool. It wasn't difficult to assemble and install. It works like an umbrella to set up and take down. It provides shade for those who want shade and covers about 1/4th of an 18ft round pool. Only down falls are the plastic screw clamps are difficult to turn with such a small handle on them, it takes two people to install it at first that is why this product does not get a 5 star rating at this time. After installing it for the first time we left the clamps in place and just removed the canopy by opening the retention pins so it would be easier for one person to set up the next time. I recommend this product to anyone that would like a shade on their pool.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New

Poor Design
This umbrella has some design flaws which renders it impractical. - It tolerates winds of only 12 MPH, which makes it unusable on most days. - It is difficult to set up even with two people. - The "grommets" (where the umbrella is mounted onto the mounting brackets) are sown into the fabric of the umbrella, so any attempt to repair requires the skill of a seamstress. - The grommets are brittle and easy to break. - The umbrella cannot be left up; it must be completely removed from the pool each time, otherwise you risk damage from winds. It would be much better to design an umbrella that can be opened and closed without having to detach it from the mounting bracket.Verified purchase: YesCondition: Pre-owned

I'm so glad that I bought this!!! WE love it! 😍 I almost didn't buy it because of some of the reviews I read. But we really needed something and so I just went ahead and ordered it (thank goodness). It came fast and was so easy to assemble and put up! We take the clamps off when we take it down and use them on the pool cover. 😊 I don't know if it would stand up during high winds because we take it down (just like we do all our umbrellas) and I'm not going to try and find out either!! LOL 😂 We're just going to enjoy it! This was a great purchase!!

Florida shade
I’ve bought two of these put one on the east side and one on the west side of my ultra frame pool. Easy to set up. Has cooled the pool at least 3 to 4° great when you have no trees and you getting sunlight about 12 hours a day. Pretty durable I leave mine up but would recommend taking it down if you knew a bad storm is coming. Have some pretty hot Florida days and have had no issue because of the heat. The umbrella material was separating at the seams the day I put it together. The second time we used it one of the joints on the longest support piece broke in hallf. Cheap!!
Don't waste your money on this shade. It takes more than two people to put up. You can't leave it on the pool or it will blow over into the pool. Then it takes two people to get it out of the pool once wet. It tears easily because it's cheap plastic material. Awful. Worst money I sent.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New

Great improvement
We have had 3 of Intex canopy in past and they only last one season. They never cod withstand wind. So far this new style is doing great. Not quit as much coverage as old one but still great. Hopefully it will last a few seasonsVerified purchase: YesCondition: New

Upgrades from the older version are a plus.
This canopy is definitely an upgrade from the older version I was using. I like the clamp style instead of the older version which had to be semi-permanently attached to the frame with screws using a screwdriver or drill. .... however, the clamps are a little small for my frame and canopy will have to be removed almost daily to prevent it from damage if it inadvertently comes off with a small wind. Definitely requires two or more people to assemble and attach to the frame. Overall, I really like this canopy and feel it will be helpful to shade the pool on those very hot, sunny days.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New

Nearly perfect
We use this cover on a 14 foot diameter Intex Ultra frame pool easy for two people to set up not impossible for one but somewhat difficult the main thing is as a sunshade it allows send sensitive people to enjoy the pool while affording some privacy. This is an additional purchase so that we can use both covers in tandem to protect more of the pool along with giving almost complete privacy.
