This book got off to a great start! If you had controling parents,it gave you a lot of stories about what other adults like you went through as a child, and the problems it caused them as adults. They only studied a small amount of adults to get these results, and the author tells of his own parental control from his father. These case studies were about 95% of the contents of the book. Towards the end of the book, it had promised to show you how to get past the parental control, the emotional problems it caused, and take your place in the adult world. It didn't. It told you what to do, a list more or less, but not a clue, about HOW to do any of it. I was very disappointed. If you want to read about other people's controling parents, this is the book for you! At least you know that you weren't alone. Other than that, don't expect to much else from the book. IF you can get this book CHEAP on Ebay or Amazon, it's worth the price. I wouldn't pay full price, or read any more of Dan Neuharth's books.Read full review
It’s a book from 1998 so it is a bit aged. But the content is very direct and helpful. I don’t read all the story examples and go straight for the educational text.
