About this product

Product Information

He made $3 million in a single day, went bankrupt four times, and was blamed for the crash of 1929. Jesse Livermore tells how he did it.Considered to be one of the greatest traders of all time, stock market legend Jesse Livermore made and lost vast fortunes and lived a life that typified the highs and lows of the 1920s and 1930s. So influential was he that many credit him with having caused the crash of 1929. And while America sank into ten long years of the Great Depression, Livermore went short--and made $100 million. Written by Livermore in 1940, the last year of his life, "How to Trade in Stocks distills the wisdom of his 40 years as a trader. It combines fascinating autobiographical and historical details with step-by-step guidance through the Livermore trading system. Investors learn his prescriptions for analyzing the leading sectors, understanding timing, money management, emotional control, and more.

Excellent seller -- good communication, item exactly as described, reasonably priced, well packed. Seller shipped immediately but the book took over half a month to arrive, due to the carrier used on the first leg, to get the package to USPS.

  • Great book and a must read for the stock trader

Simply a must read for anybody daring to enter the stock market world. His points were as true then as they are now. While he made(and lost) millions, his approach was correct when used properly. The whole book is filled with 40+ years of stock mareket knowledge. Of course, most people don't make the kind of money in the stock market as he did. But he explains why and it is these mistakes that he tries to correct for the reader. There's a reason why Jesse Livermore was one of the greats in market trading so get the book and read it carefully. He made millions calling the crash of 1907 and the crash of 1929. Do you think he would have missed the crash of 2008? I doubt it. He probably would have made hundereds of millions this year alone. There's a reason for this knowledge, and ...

  • This book is an objective discourse on commodities/securities speculation.

Good book. Exposes the importance of personal research, work ethic, business ethics/methodology. I thought the writings of Richard Smitten amounted to little. He writes solid information, but not much more than regurgitating the original book, and over complicating it with too many words, almost contradicting the authors original thoughts in my opinion. The writings of Jesse Livermore are absent of fluff and nonsense, and a solid foundation for a beginning in securities/commodities research and trading. The original information from Jesse Livermore himself are fantastic. I have found his writings to be solid, informative, complete, unemotional, concise, and well planned.
