There are several editions of this particular book, depending on which year they were published. Each variation has information pertinent to the Canon SLR's that were currently available. But the basic background information consistent in all the editions is excellent information for all 35mm film camera enthusiasts - beginners, experienced photographers, and Canon collectors alike. Carl Shipman is very knowledgeable and presents the material in understandable text along with great pictures, illustrations, charts and extensive reference material. As far as I'm concerned, Carl's books are a "must have" for anyone using or collecting earlier Canon SLR film cameras.
This is a "MUST" read and technical reference if you are using the older Canon A-Series (A-1, AE-1, AE-1P, AL-1, & the New F-1) covering the technical aspects of photography with the Canon camera, flashes, and lenses. This book picks up where the owner's manuals left off. The book covers everything from the simplied equation of exposure (E=I*T) to the more advanced methods of multiple exposures. The book is designed for the user and not the repair technician. I am NOT an avid reader but I was able to read it in about fours hours- I could not put it down! Highly recommended!!
Great book giving information on great quality cameras from the past.

This is a very good magazine/book from the 80's. Is simple to read and explain in detail the camera features and different techniques. Highly recommended.
