A better hood than the default of Fujifilm XF 18mm F2 R and 35mm F1.4 R
This metal hood is an alternative to the default lens hood provided for the Fujifilm XF18mm F2 R (and the 35mm F1.4 R). I think it looks nicer that the default lens hood. It also allows you to use the normal lens cap. The provided lens hood for the XF 18mm requires a different cap which attaches onto the hood rather than on to the lens. That cap is easy to lose as it is just a rubber piece with no locking mechanism. This lens hood is entirely metal. It is sturdy and looks like it can take a beating (not that I want to find out). It attaches securely to the lens by twisting it on, just as you would with most lens hoods. It will allow you to use the default lens cap (the plastic one with the locking mechanism. You can attach filters, but you will have to remove the lens hood to do so, then ... The lens hood might obscure the viewfinder of cameras such at the X-Pro 2. (Which is why the default lens hood has such a strange shape, in my opinion.)
