Insects have to climb too deeply inside the wire mesh of the swatter before the electrodes will zap them. This becomes a problem for insects that try to get away or that could bite/sting. The zap is strong though. These swatters are available at nicely low prices and the batteries last a long time. The swatter has an on/off switch, which is a negative, I think. When you need to swat a bug, that is not the time for you to have to fiddle with an on/off switch and if you are not the only person using the swatter, then it must be fiddled with to see if the other users turned it off or not. So, very good price, strong zap, but functionally lacking.

The button for the light to kill the flies and mosquitoes have to be pressed on so hard for it to kill. Sometimes your pressing hard and still light not staying on...not easy to kill flies only mosquitoes but it's ok i like it.

This cheap little gadget works incredibly well. I had a fruit-fly infestation (rotting mandarins) and knocked every one of them with a loud crack out of the court.
