Works well and meets my expectations!... I needed a portable AC unit that a) makes cool/cold air to allow me to relax or sleep a little better, and b) is completely reliable with no problems. Have had this about 2 weeks now, and it has done fine. My unit is 8,000 btu which has quite some power. Got mine from "new eg g" (through e B ay). Was listed as "refurbished" but actually came looking pretty much new -- unit was clean, all accessories (hose, cord, window attachments, remote, screws) were completely new and in unopened plastic. Shipping was pretty fast (f ed ex). It was double boxed, with plastic shipping straps around each one -- nice. Unpack and setup took about 45 minutes, but it was my first ever. Most everything is snap-on, might need small screwdriver for window piece. Anyone with half a brain and two hands can do it... The unit pumps out rather powerfully, and air is cool to cold. I only set mine at "70F" and haven't needed a lower setting (I'm in N California, warm but not super hot). I only use mine about two hours a day as now is still Spring, and so far I haven't gotten any full water light (supposedly this unit shouldn't do that anyways). The sound of the airflow is not bothersome to me because it is constant and solid, and I have slept... Someone online complained that their vent hose got hot -- no, mine gets kinda warm, not hot, and it's not a problem. If it was, why not prop the unit as close as possible to the window and collapse the hose down? (collapsed = about 1ft and thick, extended 3 - 4 ft and stretched) ... I have not tried the dehumidifier mode or Fan-only, so I can't comment on those. The only recommendation I have is that I open my window a couple times a day, 20 minutes or so, for new fresh air, or open a door. All in all -- nice.Read full review

This unit is faulty the temp don't drop no further than 71-73 degrees also there aren't no three cooling settings its just HIGH and LOW that's it, all I want it to do is cool off my master bedroom am I supposed to put water in the unit or what the instructions isn't clear at all about that. I'm ready to send this garbage back or put it on "offer up" and let someone else deal with the b.s.

Great Buy for the money! Not as noisy as others say. I measured it in the room, and it is about 62.5 DB So it won't bother anybody around you. Yes, it is a great brand. Now about emptying the tank once it's full. Just follow the instructions and you won't get error codes or won't cool the room or any issues like that. Issues are due to improper care, of the unit. So back to the noisy issue that others have. AC's are known to be kinda loud, But I say this is the quietest one I own. Be careful when using the dehumidification option, it does fill up quite fast and often needs emptying. The AC cooling part doesn't need much of that emptying. Only maybe once to twice a week if you use it daily for about 5 to 10 hours a day. But otherwise depends on conditions. So in summary of this unit: Take good care of it and it will be great to use over many times. The Unit is not as noisy as others say as I said before in the beginning of this review. So Do I recommend this? "Yes".Read full review

I live in coastal California, so my opinions about air conditioning are pretty much null and void. It’s nice to have for about a month, two or three days at a time here. With that in mind, this unit fits my needs perfectly. It keeps my living/dining room comfortable on hot days. That’s the good part. Installation is easy if you’re mechanically minded. If not, you might lose your mind. I had to modify the exhaust portion a bit because of a narrow window. The unit, exhaust hose, and power cord take up a sizable corner of the room when it’s doing its thing, but the rest of the year it can live in a closet. Neither the controls on the unit or the remote are particularly intuitive. I can’t seem to get it into AC mode without the remote control. When it’s hot, I have to run it on high and it’s LOUD. It wouldn’t be pleasant to sleep through at all unless you like a lot of white noise. All-in-all, I’m pleased because it belts out cold air the few times a year I need it. If you live in a hot climate and depend on AC day and night though, I’d look into a more serious solution.Read full review

Recently purchased this portable ac unit for my small bedroom. Set-up is pretty simple and will only take you a few minutes to set up depending on where you place it and how big or small your window. It has the window kit to adjust and vent out the hot air through the Hose it comes with. Once youve set it up, You do have to give it a few minutes for the cold air to begin to circulate and cool your room. It also has a fan and dehumider settings and comes with remote control. Once its up and running you will definetely notice the difference and you can set it up to how cold you want it. Its kind of big and loud but its worth having cold air in your room at a cheap price . Plus its portable so you can put it away anytime you want. I would recommend this to someone who doesnt want to put a big ac unit in there walls or windows.Read full review
