Had difficulty getting it to work with USB on Windows 10. Computer never saw it. I tried HP Universal drivers and set up but it never saw it. I gave up and hooked it up with Ethernet. That was easy. USB printing is often weird. Fast printer. Great quality. Excellent refurbishing.

The machine covers all had to be replaced as the one's on the machine were badly discolored, however, I had the covers so it became a mute issue. On the upside, the machine had not been run for what appeared to be several years, thus al the firmware, and memories had to be re programed though that is fine as I know how to do this. Once that and the covers were taken care of The tires (feed/seperation etc,), were really bad, though I had those and that then became another mute point. We did install duplex on the machine and it worked just fine, OVERALL All BECAUSE : I had all the pieces, parts, and knowledge the machine ran excellent, It is currently running Duplex, 2500, to 3000 invoices per day and never missing a beat. It was a good machine,, and is, I think it was a red headed step child that someone put away and just recently brought it out and didn't have the market for it. The machine had fairly low copy count and the M/A kit had some distance left in it and I reset the counters when I re programmed the equipment and it is doing very well, I did have to replace the transfer roller which I had a new one and copy quality was prestine at that point. A Good Machine, paid a little more than I normally do for those machine but the core machine was worth it and is proving out extremely well, I did replace the toner cartridge with a brand new extra large as the one that came with the machine the drum was really not all that good no big deal on any of the issues of the machine. This is a very good high speed laser printer. It goes at about 40 to 45 pages a minute and doesn't even breathe hard. It is well built and can be a real workhorse in a small office environment. I haven't gotten into duplexing with it yet and need to get a manual for some of the more complex tasks that it is capable of. However, the rollers are very accessible and easy to remove and clean and the toner cartridge is a piece of cake to remove and replace. Thankfully, everything you need to get to opens easily and provides plenty of accessibility to get to places for maintenance, parts replacement, paper loading, USB, parallel and the front panel display is pretty intuitive. All in all HP did a very nice job with this. Straight forward office work horse for b/w printing. It is networkable as well. I've had other HP's, but this is the first one that I've really be able to really recommend. I think HP should stick to higher end printer. Their $100-$200 ink and color ink jets just don't hold up and the single ink tanks are very expensive. This is clearly much better built. The old story, look what companies are noted for and go with their strength. This is a solid HP product. If you have a change to grab one do it. Plenty of maintenance kit are available as are fusers. However, just maintain it and it will be servicable for a very long time. Into the hundreds of thousands of pages of printing before you have to do anything other then replace the paper or toner. I decided to buy this after years of slow printing and smudged ink. I also have a Canon MX700 all in one and for color which is a recent purchase as well. Remember what I said about what companies are know for? Great machine. The combination of the two are a dynamic duo. A great pairing for sure. Both are networkable and in a small office environment just perfect together.Read full review
Awesome printer. Fast and easy setup for this old vintage workhorse of a printer. Prints super fast, sharp and clear. I don't like to read instructions on anything, and I didn't need to for this one. Hooray! : )
