Looking for plastic pots that are thick enough is a pain as many are way too thin. The thin ones are OK if filled in place and not moved but the whole point of a flowerpot is 'portability'. These are not extremely thick but are just thick enough to support the weight full of potting soil and can be carried. There is a curled over lip molded into the mouth that looks good and gives a great hold for lifting. I use landscape fabric to cover the bottom and up the sides a few inches so water can drain out the holes but keep the soil in. [ Other than that I feel the same way as northcoastgardening com/2010/10/why-i-hate-landscape-fabric/ ] I do also wash the pots before use the first time to remove any surface chemicals from manufacturing. May not be needed but it makes me feel better.

I have purchased these pots (of varying large sizes) several times and highly recommend them. All of my gardening is done in pots and these have held up really well. They are sturdy, easy to handle and not heavy like ceramic pots are. I highly recommend them.
