Things to keep in mind when shaving ice with this machine: Center the ice as precisely as you can otherwise the ice will wobble. Make certain the blade is fully "off" or down when you turn on the machine. Buy a foot pedal on/off switch at Harbor Freight or Ebay. After the machine is spinning and the ice is not wobbling - slowly rase the blade (counter clockwise) until you get the density of ice you prefer. You can't beat this as a value. I am struggling finding replacement blades.
