I am not one who usually likes samplers. Most of them are composed almost entirely of excerpts from regularly heard - almost trite - selections. I usually severely dislike excerpts. This disc, however, consists of about half shorter selections in their entirety and the other half expertly selected portions of longer works. The musicians who contribute are very deft. I particularly enjoyed the two organ pieces which were played in their entirety by Hannes Kastner, a soloist with whom I was totally unfamiliar before acquiring this CD. Actually, all fifteen of the selections were quite pleasing, and I would recommend this disc highly to a beginner in this genre, or even a seasoned veteran.
