Purchased this remote about 3 months ago and it has worked so well, I purchased 2 more. Great quality, good range, easy to program (Dip Switches) and an awesome price.

Much smaller unit than expected. Dip switches very hard to see and set. Had to press button several times to make operate. Works better when inside the garage, but... Got so frustrated with it that I bought a used original Genie GT912 on Ebay and it works perfect. Only a value if it works.

This small replacement opener arrived quickly; was reasonably priced; was easy to set up and works well. Some reviews were disappointed in the range of the unit but mine seems every bit as good as the original GT912 that came withe opener. It has a less commonly used battery so I will see what happens when I need to replace it.

We have a Mid Century home with the original garage door. But for good quality “Vintage” items like this we would be unable to use automated system. Much appreciated.

While modern equivalent products are available to substitute for the original Genie GT912, and admittedly there are few owners of Genie garage door openers that will work with this product, which has been superseded by "rolling code" technology to reduce burglary via RF code interception, the original USA-made remote controls are satisfying to own for the person who hates to waste perfectly good things that can be used rather than being thrown away. The asking price on these obsolete remote controls can be steep, but generally one can find one for $20 with some patience -- about twice the original retail cost. The only thing that can really go wrong (short of corrosion due to a neglected battery cell) is the one moving part, a 6x6mm momentary button switch, used to activate the device. (The current draw is about 7 mA.) This part can generally be picked up at your local electronics shop for under a dollar. A few minutes of soldering to replace the switch, and the remote control is as good as new and will give many years of service!Read full review
