I recently needed this book for class. At the age of 29, I've decided to pursue my master's degree. Seeing as though I have not been in a chemistry classroom in quite a while I decided to enroll at the local community college to take this class. I have found that this book is easy to understand, has great problems and diagrams. Of course the teacher is really the person who has enhanced my learning. The book is a great tool and I would highly recommend it to anyone who is wanting take General Chemistry!
I bought this book for my 2 semesters of Chemistry for college. It's a good book, very interesting, and easily understandable. However, the authors have a few typographical errors in their answers section which has given me some minor headaches.
This book is difficult for the non-traditional student to understand unless they are familiar with the subject (although in some cases those who are familiar with the subject have difficulty understanding it). It isn't very user friendly for me. I read the material at least 3 times and don't always understand what they are trying to relate. I purchased the book as a requirement for an online college General Chemistry course.
Interesting examples of real applications of concepts learned. I liked the organization within chapters.
