GALAXY QUEST is a satirical comedy that pokes fun at the influence science fiction shows such as STAR TREK have had on their audience. The cast members of the cult sci-fi television series GALAXY QUEST now earn their livings appearing at conventions and grand openings, led by their bombastic captain Jason Nesmith, played by Tim Allen. When an alien race--the Thermians--arrives on earth, it appears that they have mistakenly appropriated the show's culture as their own, thinking the series was actual fact. Desperate for help in battling the evil General Sarris, they bring the actors with them into space to save their planet. A surprisingly smart and funny send-up of the science-fiction culture and the influence television has on the world at large, GALAXY QUEST is a comedy that even nongenre fans can enjoy, with terrific turns by Sigourney Weaver, Alan Rickman, Sam Rockwell, and Tony Shalhoub.

    Galaxy Quest (2000, VHS)

    This movie has in it the rule of life: Never give up. Never surrender. The first admonition to which we are to adhere deals with moving forward. It means to never give up moving forward in life. That is the supreme goal. The second is a reinforcer. Never surrender. The second admonition deals with standing one's ground. Even if you cannot move forward, (do not give up, not now or ever) dig in, and NEVER SURRENDER! If you adhere to these principles in life, you will be way more successful than if you don't. You will have a totally different life between the two. This movie is a dream come true for Star Trek fans who can make the not-so-quantum leap. Tim Allen is a good bet for family movies, but this is his best.

    Galaxy Quest (VHS) 2000

    Tim Allen it seems, when given an opportunity to create, can come up with some really cool stuff. I grew up watching Star Track, and after watching this movie I had an even better after taste than those next generations of! This is the way they should have went! This movie is almost believeable in that a civilization saw a futuristic TV Show, then created the ship,its equipment,and every thing else to match... only for real! Everything about it seemed to leave room for a realistic future maybe 200 years from now. This is a move I have been able to watch over and over again and not get tired of. Its clean enough for the kids to watch too. I wouldn t change anything about...thank you Tim Allen for making a GOOD movie.

    Galaxy Quest

    My family and I love science fiction movies within good taste. This movie is a parody of sorts of the original Star Trek. The characters copy some of the charactics of the Star Trek characters. We thought it was done well. We was glad to include this movie in our personal movie collection.

    Fun family movie!

    This is a really fun movie for the whole family, my six year old loves the action. If you grew up watching Star Trek, you will love the humor in this movie.
